‘California’
I have been lucky to visit my brother in Santa Monica where I was able to witness some amazing sunsets. I wanted to create an artwork that captured the iconic, tall palm trees that are synonymous with LA, and the tall skyscrapers and clouds that surrounded me when I gazed up to the purple sky. The colour palette of oranges, reds, blues and deep purples mirror the rich hues in my memories of the California sunset. The bold colours and moving clouds not only capture the visual spectacle of the moment but also reflects the constant evolution of the urban landscape. Through abstraction, I aim to transcend the confines of reality and invite you to embark on an inspirational Santa Monica daydream of your own.
